In short

Every piece we sell is an original from the designer's own collection. We don't manufacture or copy designs. For most of the designers we carry we are an authorised stockist, and for the rest we buy from the designer's official outlets or their verified stockists.

How we source our pieces

House of Maryam brings together more than 250 Pakistani designers. We source every piece from the designer, their official outlets or verified stockists:

  • Authorised stockist: for most of the designers we carry, we are an authorised stockist.
  • Official outlets and verified stockists: for the others, we buy from the designer's own outlets or from their verified stockists.

Orders are prepared and dispatched from our production and fulfilment facility in Lahore, Pakistan, or by other authorised production partners where applicable.

Stitched and unstitched pieces

Unstitched suits are the designer's original fabric.

Stitched pieces are made from the designer's original fabric, either in the designer's own stitching unit or by our team.

That is why collar labels vary. A piece stitched in the designer's unit, or one for which the designer supplies collar labels, usually carries the designer's label. Where we stitch, finish or label a piece, a House of Maryam label may replace or sit alongside the designer's label. This doesn't change where the fabric and the design come from.

Proof you can ask for

Ask us before your order is dispatched, by WhatsApp message or by email (see Contact us):

  • Designer packaging: we can ship your order in the designer's original packaging. Unless you ask, we use House of Maryam packaging.
  • Inlay card: we can include the designer's inlay card in your order.
  • Purchase receipt: we can share the purchase receipt for your piece where we have one. This isn't always possible, because some pieces come from the designer's verified stockists.

Every product page also shows the design name and, where the designer uses one, the design code, so you can compare your piece with the designer's own catalogue, website or social media.

What we check before dispatch

Every order is quality-checked before it leaves us. Our team checks:

  • Embroidery and finish: embroidery, embellishments and prints are complete and undamaged.
  • Stitching and size: for stitched pieces, the seams, the finishing and the measurements against the size you chose.
  • Labels and design code: the designer's label and design code, where the designer provides them.

How to spot a replica, wherever you shop

Copies of popular Pakistani designer outfits are common. These checks help with any seller:

  • Price: a "designer" outfit sold far below the designer's own price is very likely a copy.
  • Design name and code: ask the seller for them, then find the design in the designer's own catalogue, website or social media.
  • Fabric and embroidery: original embroidery is usually dense, neat and even. Copies often use thinner fabric, sparse or uneven thread work, or prints where the original is embroidered.
  • Labels and packaging: many designers use their own labels, packaging and inlay cards, so misspelt labels or plain wrapping are warning signs. A stitched outfit can still carry a retailer's or tailor's label, as some of ours do.
  • The seller: check that the seller is a registered business with a real address, contact details and customer reviews.

Questions

Are your pieces original designer products?

Yes. We don't manufacture or copy designs, and every piece is an original from the designer's own collection.

Why does my outfit have a House of Maryam label?

Where we stitch, finish or label a piece, our label may replace or sit alongside the designer's label. The fabric and the design are still the designer's own. Section 8 of our Refund policy explains this too.

Can I have the designer's packaging?

Yes. Ask us before your order is dispatched and we can ship it in the designer's original packaging and include the designer's inlay card. Otherwise we use House of Maryam packaging.

Can I see where my piece was bought?

On request, we can share the purchase receipt where we have one. Some pieces come from the designer's verified stockists, so a receipt isn't always available.
